first there was florida

happy.

happier.

happiest.

I did a lot of floating in that place they call florida. this is because I love secret time spent underwater.

also, I will admit to resisting the magic but the castle, it sort of did me in. and then there was this moment. which made all the rest of it worthwhile. all the rest of it= oppressive heat and humidity, throngs of mostly (sometimes marginally) happy people.

one look at this sweet, wonky braid and I'm reminded that there really aren't enough vacation days in the world to make up for lost time. it's official: I miss my family.

(sweet wonky braid model= my niece, whom I affectionately refer to as z-girl).

  4. I am from Florida and we went there often as kids. Going so often made it seem less magical at times. That one stunning photo of your children's heads brought back the magic. Enjoy that family of yours!

  16. HOW do you get such beautiful colours in all your photos. Absolutely wonderful! Is it just a normal polaroid camera?

  17. I spent my whole childhood in Florida and that picture of you in the shallow calm green water brought back so many memories. When the gulf of Mexico was too choppy, we would go across the highway to the bay, which had water like that. No waves, warm, shallow, green, full of minnows, soft sandy bottom. I would lie in it, just like that, for hours.
